Welcome to Bubba Blankets! We’re the Polder family—Sarah, Art, and our two wonderful children, Luke and Abby. Our story begins with a simple idea rooted in love, creativity, and a deep passion for inclusivity.
Our journey with Bubba Blankets started as a way to bond as a family and create something meaningful. Our son Luke, who has autism, has taught us so much about the world through his unique perspective and incredible strengths. We call these strengths his “superpowers,” and they inspire us every day. Luke’s journey has shown us the beauty of neurodiversity and the profound joy that comes from embracing each individual’s gifts and talents.
Making blankets together became more than a family activity—it became our mission. Through Bubba Blankets, we aim to raise awareness of autism and celebrate the wonderful qualities that make every child, neurodivergent or not, truly exceptional. Each cozy, handmade blanket we create is a testament to love, inclusion, and the joy of connection. We believe that by bringing neurodivergent and non-neurodivergent children together, we create a more compassionate and understanding world for all.
